Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Visiting administrator of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Helen Clark met opposition leader and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia at her office in the capital Dhaka Friday evening.

During the hour-long meeting Clark said that the UNDP ran its second largest operation in Bangladesh. She lauded Khaleda for the initiative she took for development activities, especially in education and health sectors, when her party was in the government from 2001 to 2006.

BNP vice-chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, who was present in the meeting, later said they had discussed various development programs of UNDP in Bangladesh.

He said that Khaleda congratulated Helen Clark for her new assignment.
