Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The new UNESCO Resident Representative Derek Elias on Tuesday presented a letter of the UNESCO Director General to Foreign Minister Dipu Moni appointing him as the Residential Representative in Bangladesh. 
During the meeting, they deliberated upon the possibility of enhanced collaboration between Bangladesh and UNESCO in preserving tangible and intangible heritage of Bangladesh, a foreign ministry press statement said.  
Foreign Minister Dipu Moni wished Derek Elias a successful tenure in Bangladesh.
The foreign minister stressed the commitment of the government on the evolution of the International mother Language Institute (IMLI) as an international centre of excellence. 
In this context, she underscored the need to explore an institutionalized relationship between the International Mother Language Institution and UNESCO.
