Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Industries within private and public export processing zones will enjoy uniform tax holiday facility, Finance Minister AMA Muhith has said.
He said the objective of the present government is to ensure balanced development and industrialization by encouraging both public and private initiatives.
Under the present system, industries in public export processing zones used to enjoy tax holiday.
“I propose to extend uniform tax holiday facilities to all industries established both in public and private EPZs,” Muhith said while while unveiling the national budget for fiscal year (FY) 2012-13 on Thursday.
The minister also proposed tax holiday for cinema halls and cultural complexes for five and seven years considering the location of the establishment. This, he said, is intended to preserve and promote our cultural heritage.
