Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– United Airways (BD) Limited will launch Dhaka-Muscat-Dhaka flights on Sunday, making a significant milestone in Bangladesh’s aviation industry.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Lt Col (retd) Faruk Khan would inaugurate the flight at the domestic terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital Dhaka, a company official said.

Civil Aviation Secretary M Ataharul Islam, Chairman of United Airlines Captain Tasbirul Ahmed Choudhury and high officials of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) will attend the function, among others.

The Dhaka-Muscat-Dhaka flight would be operated four days a week. Two days directly on the Dhaka-Muscat-Dhaka routes and the rest two days on the Chittagong-Muscat-Muscat-Chittagong-Dhaka.

One-way (special) travel cost on Dhaka-Muscat routes has been fixed at BDT 16,985 excluding all taxes and return (two ways) at BDT 33,180 excluding all taxes.

United Airways, the lone listed Airlines in the country’s capital market, began its journey on July 10, 2007, with its maiden flight from Dhaka to Sylhet.

It is now operating flights on different international destinations including Jeddah, Dubai, London, Kuala Lumpur, Katmandu, Kolkata and Bangkok.
