Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-United Airways Ltd dominated the week’s top turnover chart last week on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) that ended on Thursday.
A total of 91.68 million shares worth above BDT 1.01 billion changed hands during the week.
Daily average turnover for the company was BDT 202.8 million.
The company’s share closed at BDT 11.11 on Thursday, the last trading day of the week and no change over the previous week’s price.
Analysts said the investors took position on United Airway’s share, anticipating hefty dividend declaration ahead as the company’s year closing on June 30, 2015.
In 2014, the company disbursed 10 percent stock dividend.
The company reported net profit after tax from July14 to Dec14 was BDT 268.14 million with EPS of BDT 0.43 as against BDT 277.59 million and BDT 0.44 (restated) respectively for the same period of the previous year.
The Travel and Leisure Sector Company listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2010 and belonging to ‘A’ category.
Of the total share – sponsor/directors held by only 8.44 percent, institutions held 19.62 per cent while general public held by 71.94 per cent shares, according to DSE website information.
The week’s other turnover leaders were ACI Limited BDT 957.24 million changed hands followed by newly listed Olympic Accessories BDT 936.22 million, Beximco BDT 903.13 million, GP BDT 848.09 million changed hands.
IFAD Autos also came to the top ten turnover list with shares worth BDT 817.30 million, changed hands followed by Lafarge Surma Cement BDT 778.82 million, Beximco Pharma BDT 755.52 million, ACI Formulations BDT 687.76 million and Square Pharma BDT 614.98 million changed hands last week.
