Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – A total of 15,06,783 students passed the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations in 2011 out of 17,99,947 appeared with the percentage at 83.71 which is 10.67 percent higher than that of the last year. 
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid termed it as a total success since progress is there in all sections. 
The pass rate in JSC examinations is 82.67 percent and JDC examinations 88.71. The rates were 71.34 and 81.03 percent respectively in 2010.
A total of 30,897 students under eight general education boards and one madrasa board scored the highest GPA-5 (grade point average) this year. Of them 29,883 are school students while the remaining 1,014 madrasa students.
Barisal Education Board was on top with a 93.13 percent success while Dhaka Education Board secured the top position with the highest GPA-5 performers (12021). 
Comilla has had a 91.25 percent success while Sylhet 83.34 percent, Dhaka 81.45 percent, Rajshashi 79.88 percent, Jessore 79.87 percent and Chittagong Education Board 72.65 percent.
Rajuk Uttara Model School and College secured the top position in Dhaka with cent percent success rate and 304 students’ achieving the GPA-5. 
Motijheel Ideal School and College bagged the second position while Mirzapur Cadet College emerged third, according to the result.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid earlier handed over a copy of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina around 1:00pm.
The results are available on www.educationboardresults.gov.bd and the candidates can also get their results through short message service of Teletalk mobile phone operator.
