Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- US Congressman Steve Chabot will arrive in the capital Dhaka on Tuesday on a two-day official visit to discuss with top leadership the current political challenges in Bangladesh over the next general election and Dhaka-Washington bilateral relations.
Mr. Steve during his visit to Bangladesh will meet with national leadership to discuss Bangladesh’s role in the region and bilateral relations with the United States, according to a US embassy announcement.
In addition, he looks forward to discussing the ongoing International War Crimes Tribunals and the overall security situation in Bangladesh and in the region, it added.
Official sources said the US Representative Steve Chabot, who is Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific, is scheduled to call on Foreign Minister Dipu Moni at her office at 10:45am Tuesday and with Leader of the Opposition Khaleda Zia at 6:30pm.
He is expected to call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday.
