Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- US dollar remained stable against Bangladesh taka (BDT) in the inter-bank foreign exchange market during the last week ahead of Eid vacation.

The market witnessed higher inflow of inward remittances and export earnings that led to sufficient supply of the foreign currency in the inter-bank foreign exchange market, treasury officials said.

The inter-bank exchange rate of dollar moved between BDT 68.50 and BDT 68.52 unchanged from the previous week, they confirmed.

The US dollar, however, gained ground in public deals and it was mostly exchanged at rates hovering between BDT 67.47 and BDT 69.75 against the previous week’s range between BDT 67.42 and BDT 69.80.

The greenback was steady with an upward bias and was traded at rates varying between BDT 70.00 and BDT 70.40 against the previous week’s range between BDT 70.00 and BDT 70.35 in the In the informal market, generally known as kerb market.
