Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– US-based financial magazine Global Finance has awarded Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL) as the best Islamic financial institution in Bangladesh for 2010. 
IBBL shareholder Hafizur Rahman, CPA, received the prize on behalf of the bank from Global Finance President and Publisher Joseph D Giarraputo at a function at National Pres Club in Washington DC recently.
Catholic University of America Professor Mohammad Arozullah, John Hopkins University Laboratory scientist and researcher Farid Ahmed, George Washington University’s Foreign Services Institute students Khurrom Siddiqui, Mohsina Mahbuba and Diaur Rahman joined the function.
Chief executive officers and representatives of leading banks and financial institutions of different countries also attended the occasion. 
Global Finance gives the award to those banks that contribute much more to the growth of Islamic financing and meet their customers’ needs for Shariah-compliant products with grand success.
Earlier, IBBL also won the Global Finance Award in 1999, 2000, 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2009 for its remarkable contribution to the development of Islamic financing in Bangladesh.
