Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) on Thursday for cooperation on aviation safety issues.
The agreement will enable the FAA to conduct a technical review of civil aviation safety in Bangladesh to help ensure international civil aviation safety standards, a US embassy press statement said.
Present at the signing ceremony were Nicholas Dean, Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy Bangladesh, FAA South Asia Senior Representative & Civil Aviation Attaché Aaron Wilkins, and Air Commodore Mahmud Hossain, CAAB Chairman.
This agreement underscores the U.S. Government’s commitment to engage with Bangladesh on civil aviation issues and facilitate increased U.S.-Bangladesh aviation links, including the plans of Biman Bangladesh airlines to resume flights to the United States, the statement added.
