Washington, DC (BBN) – U.S. Special Envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Rashad Hussain, will travel to Afghanistan next week. 
During his visit, he will meet with high-level Afghan government officials and civil society representatives, an official announcement said on Friday. 
He will also meet with Afghan university students and travel outside of Kabul. This is the Special Envoy’s first trip to Afghanistan. 
Mr. Hussain was appointed by President Obama on February 13, 2010 as Special Envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). As Special Envoy to the OIC, Mr. Hussain seeks to deepen and expand the partnerships that the United States has pursued with Muslims around the world.
