Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Geoffrey R. Pyatt arrived in Dhaka on Thursday for the start of a three-day visit to Bangladesh.  
During his first trip to Bangladesh, Mr. Pyatt will meet with senior government officials, politicians, and leading representatives of business and civil society groups, a US embassy press statement said. 
Mr. Pyatt will pay visits to Parliament, the American Chamber of Commerce 2011 U.S. Trade Show at the Sheraton Hotel, and Grameen Bank.  
Geoffrey Pyatt became Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the South and Central Asia Affairs Bureau in May 2010.  Prior to that, from August 2007, he was Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Mission to the International Atomic Energy Agency and International Organizations in Vienna. 
He served in New Delhi from 2002-2007, first as Minister Counselor for Political Affairs and then as Deputy Chief of Mission.  Additional postings include Hong Kong, Lahore, and Washington, DC.
