Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – A team of five universities of United States of America (USA) called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique at latter’s office in the capital on Sunday.
Director of the School of Social Work, Southern Illinois University Carbondale Professor Mizanur Rahman Miah led the team. 
The US universities include Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Case Western Reserve University, University of Nevada Reno, Spelman College, Atlanta and Wayne State University, Detroit.
During the meeting, they discussed matters on academic activities of DU and different issues of socio-economic development in Bangladesh.
The DV VC apprised them of the history of DU since its inception and its academic and other activities and the history of our liberation war and language movement in brief. 
He also apprised them of education system in Bangladesh and answered different questions of the students of the US team.
The US team is now on a visit to Bangladesh under ‘Study Abroad Program 2011-12’ of Southern Illinois University Carbondale in collaboration with Case Western Reserve University.
Associate Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of DU Mofizur Rahman and Mohammad Delwar Hossain, a Ph.D student of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, are jointly coordinating the program.
