Voting progressing in 91 upazilas of Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The fourth phase of upazila (sub-district) election is progressing in 91 upazilas of Bangladesh on Sunday amid tight security and fears of escalating violence.

The voting that began at 8:00am (local time) will continue till 4:00pm without any break, according to reports.

In the wake of violence in the previous three phases of upazila polls, the Election Commission (EC) on Saturday asked the army, police, Border Guard Bangladesh and RAB to take preventive measures for the remaining phases.

The EC rang the bell since blasts and attacks on rivals have intensified tension in some electoral areas.
