Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Saif Powertec Limited (SPL) dominated the week’s top turnover chart on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week that ended on Thursday.
Some 12.04 million shares of the company were traded worth BDT 878 million changing hands during the week.
Daily average turnover for the company was BDT 175.64 million.
The company’s share closed at BDT 71.5 on Thursday, the last session of the week, registering a decline of 0.56 per cent over the previous week.
Market insiders said investors played both sides of the company’s share as a section of investors took position while some booked profits on it, which contributed to higher turnover.
Meanwhile, the company has reported 134 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated earnings in first quarter (Q1) in the July-September, 2015.
As per un-audited Q1 earnings declaration, consolidated earnings per share (EPS) for July-September, 2015 was BDT 1.38 as against BDT 0.59 for July-September, 2014.
The company was listed on the DSE in September 2014. The company belongs to the category of ‘A’.
Saif Powertec floated 12 million ordinary shares at an offer price of BDT 30, including a premium of BDT 20 for each ten taka share and raised a fund worth BDT 360 million last year.
The fund raised through the public offering used for setting up a new project for manufacturing battery and met the expenses of IPO process.
Of the total shares, 43.33 per cent held by sponsor/directors, 16.92 per cent institutional investors and 39.75 per cent held by public, according to DSE website information.
The company’s paid-up capital is BDT 915.7 million and authorized capital is BDT 5,000 million while the total number of securities is 91,571,140.
Saif Powertec sales and provides service of construction material handling and power generation equipment in Bangladesh.
The company is also working at Chittagong Port as Container Terminal Operator.
The board of directors of the company disbursed 29 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on 30 June, 2015.
In 2014, the company disbursed 27 per cent stock dividend.
Saif Powertec was followed by IFAD Autos BDT 841 million, Beximco Pharma BDT 712 million, Al-Arafa Islami BDT 591 million, Far Chemical BDT 535 million, Titas Gas BDT 487 million.
Recently listed KDS Accessories also came to the top turnover list with shares of BDT 481 million changing hands followed by Square Pharma BDT 478 million, United Power BDT 475 million and Simtex Industries BDT 467 million changed hands.
