Weekly roundup: bear rules Dhaka stocks

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Last week was a week full of major corrections for the Dhaka stocks, market operators said.

The benchmark index Dhaka Stock Exchange General Index (DGEN) lost 1,249.54 points or 16.49 percent, the highest in a week since its inception back in 2001.

Total turnover for the week came down to BDT 32.3 billion from BDT 54.2 billion of the previous week, according to the DSE data.

Average daily turnover for the week was BDT 6.5 billion compared to BDT 10.8 billion.
