Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The Dhaka stocks rallied throughout the week mainly driven by strong buying support from retail and institutional investors pushed the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) benchmark index DSE GEN up for the sixth consecutive session on Thursday, with substantial rise in the turnover.

Over the week, DSEGEN gained 1210.78 points or 22.30 percent from last Thursday and turnover increased from BDT 5.0382 billion to BDT 14.9295 billion.

The bullish trend continues as investors’ confidence restored following a number of government positive measures and as the investors are less interested to sell share to recover their earlier loses, market operators said.

On Wednesday, Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB), has approved the government’s proposition of BDT 50 billion to sponsor the Bangladesh Fund (BF), the largest ever mutual fund (MF), which is going to be floated for supporting the stock market.
