Weekly roundup: Dhaka stocks record a fresh high

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) started the last week dovish but recovered later in the week that also saw the indices finishing higher than the previous week.

The benchmark index DSE General Index (DGEN) gained 1.34 percent while the broader DSI index moved up by 1.24 percent. The blue chip index DSE-20 advanced 2.48 percent.

The total turnover this week registered at BDT 124.39 billion while average daily turnover was BDT 24.88 billion marking 10.3 percent decrease compared to the previous week.

The market ended at fresh high as DGEN gained 1.32 percent on the closing day of the week. Turnover for the day increased by 28.2 percent to BDT 31.80 billion, the highest turnover in one month and the second highest ever.
