Weekly roundup: Dhaka stocks rise, fall

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The stock market was bearish starting from the middle of the week. During the week the benchmark index DSE General Index (DGEN) dropped 90 points (1.33 percent) while DSI and DSE-20 lost 79 points and 59 points respectively.
However, total turnover for the week was 17 percent higher. The market started positively with DGEN gaining 0.26 percent on Sunday. 
On Tuesday, the DGEN gained 0.54 percent, taking the index to all time high at around 6,777.95. The index then dropped 128 points on Wednesday. On Thursday, the index moved up marginally.
