World Bank President Jim Yong Kim to visit Bangladesh on Oct 17

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- World Bank President Dr. Jim Yong Kim is scheduled to arrive in the capital Dhaka on October 17 to have a glimpse of the Bangladesh's success in poverty alleviation.
"The World Bank WB) chief is coming to Dhaka on October 17 but the itinerary of his visit is yet to be finalized," a WB's Dhaka office official told media on Saturday.
The WB chief is amazed by Bangladesh's success in achieving MDGs and meeting poverty alleviation targets. So, he has planned to visit Bangladesh on the occasion of the International Day on Poverty Alleviation on October 17.
The WB official also said Bangladesh has made remarkable success in achieving MDGs and meeting poverty alleviation targets.
“Not only in the South Asia, Bangladesh is now an example in the developing world for its success in human development index especially in reducing child and maternal mortality rates. The WB chief is coming to see these achievements of Bangladesh.”
A US citizen of South Korean origin Jim became the president of the World Bank on July 1, 2012.
